Everyone wants to be successful. Books are written about it. People attend seminars to discover the secret to success. Philosophers pontificate on the meaning of success. How do you define success?
Well, not to be outdone, my brother recently sent me an email (You may have seen a variation of this yourself) that quantified success in simple mathematical terms. Being more of a wordsmith than a mathematician, I thought it might be a fun change of pace to share this simple formula with you.
Here it is…
Everyone talks about giving 100%, achieving 100%. It’s not uncommon to hear people say they’re giving more than 100% as if that’s possible. Can you achieve 110%? Can you be 107% successful? But I digress. Let’s stick to the premise that being 100% successful in life, in your work, in your relationships is the goal, and it’s actually achievable. What’s the secret? How do you get there?
Well, here you go…it’s a mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions.

H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K

But:
A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E
1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%
Success starts on the inside and works its way out. How you think directs how you live. The great thing about attitude is that it is completely within your control. You can’t control the weather. You can’t control what happens to you or the circumstances of life. We all get dealt bad hands and good hands. But one thing you can control is your attitude, how you respond to the things that come your way.
So this week, no matter how extraordinary or stressful or frightening or overwhelming or how wonderful your life circumstances may be, make a choice to live 100%. It starts with your attitude.
